What you’ll do (Tour Overview)
9:00 am Pick-up and transfer from your hotel to kayak launching place, a quick drive of 15 minutes
9:20 am upon arrival meet up with your kayak guide and learn about the route to follow up.
9:25 am you’ll start paddling throughout the open side of the lake then after follow the water channel used by big tourist boats.
11:00 am you’ll get to the maze of reeds, kayaking through a wider water channel among the reeds, a less windy and calm place (mostly).
11:45 am you’ll arrive to Lake Titicaca Uros reed floating Islands.
12:20 pm after an extra 15 minutes of short paddling, you’ll step on one of the floating lodge in the Northern side for enjoying a tasty locally prepared lunch.
1:20 pm paddle again from Uros Islands to Puno bay.
2:30 pm arrival time to besides Isla Esteves (or Kalapajra) and get transferred to your hotel by our driver.
Where you’ll kayak
This morning on your Uros day kayak tour you’ll cover the beautiful foreshore of Southern Uros islands in Lake Titicaca National Reserve.
It’s perfect for those who are fairly new to kayaking, as well as more experienced kayakers who enjoy and appreciate the clear, crystal water surrounded by the fresh reeds and local birds.
Uros Kayak Day Trip Description
9:00 am hotel transfer
On your Kayak Titicaca, you’re going to be picked up, and then driven to Chimu kayak dock by one of our friendly and reliable drivers.
Current launch location is Chimu bay 15 min away from downtown on the South high way from Puno to Copacabana or La Paz, Bolivia.
If you’re a beginner your passionate English speaking kayak guide is going to introduce you into elemental kayak paddling lessons, paddling techniques and more. You’ll wear your personal floatation device, enter in the kayak and start paddling right away!
9:25 am kayaking Lake Titicaca
The place offers incredible views where High plateau sky and lake is one, blue water ways, green carpeted reeds (mostly in rainy season) and native birds living around in their natural habitat all this is amazing.

Along the way, we’re going to have a panoramic view of the Peninsula of Capachica and Chucuito. Endless blue water acts like a natural border between Quechua and Aymara speaking communities. After almost one hour we’re going to get to the same water channel used by Lake Titicaca 2 day tour and Lake Titicaca day tour motor boats going to Amantani and Taquile Islands.
12:15 pm Uros Floating Islands Tour
Finally after almost 2 hours paddling we’re going to reach to Uros floating village.
Your first impression will be how these islands would have been built. But, there is no need to imagine! Just let your guide explain you about their origin, history, way of life and more importantly how the islands are built.
Almost one hundred floating Islands can be counted, which are distributed along the Wily River and the shallow parts.
Let’s paddle again for about 15 minutes towards one of the reed floating homestays.
We’re having lunch at Uros Khantati, Summa Paqari Lodge, Qhantany Lodge, Maya lodge or other similar; enjoy your tasty lunch with some great lake overlooking.
There will be time to encounter with the Islanders, or just sit and relax.
Lunch is based on grilled Chicken or Trout with vegetables and dessert (banana and mango covered with melted chocolate) or another different presentation.
1:20 pm Uros to Puno shore
After an amazing Lake Titicaca Day Kayak Tour you’ll be on the way back to Puno, you’ll take a different route, paddling through the carpeted reeds you’ll get to Kalapajra pier or besides Isla Esteves.
Here the driver will be ready and then you are taken to your hotel.
Around 2:45 pm you’ll be again at your hotel.
