We’re kayaking from Southern Puno to Uros Islands, and then have lunch on Qhantany Island lodge or another similar Island, where we’ll also do local activities in the late afternoon when sun is setting over Puno city and spend the night at Uros people’s cozy reed floating home.

What you’ll do on Puno to Taquile Island Tour
Day 1: Kayak from Southern Puno to Uros Islands and Overnight
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Puno then drive you to Chimu community launch point. So, do not worry about how to get to kayak departure point.

Here, after 15+ min drive and a safety briefing from your kayak guide, you’ll receive the appropriate safety equipment and embark on our more than 2 hours kayaking adventure through beautiful landscapes towards Uros reed floating Islands.
We’re paddling through beautiful place, out of the tourist trail. Your guide provides clue information about Uros islands and Lake Titicaca facts.
We’ll arrive to the location of the Uros Titicaca floating village taking in sight how people live on those amazing reed homes.
After the exploration we’re heading to Qhantany lodge for lunch, local activities and the homestay (when available or we’ll book another similar as Khantani Lodge, Luz del Titicaca Lodge, Uros Summa Paqarina Lodge, Aruntawi lodge, etc)
Lunch is based on grilled trout or chicken accompanied with vegetables and hot drinks. In the late afternoon an Uros man is taking you to teach us how they cut the reeds for the building of their islands and maintenance. Just after the sun sets over the Lake, you’ll have dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: Speed boat ride to Taquile + Puno paddle
In the morning, the family will provide the breakfast. Our host family is then after taking you to where the fast boat is waiting for you.
There will be another group guide who delivers the explanation about what to do during the day and some clue facts about Taquile Island.
Amantani Island is very well-known for their friendly and warm population besides the best place for a homestay experience as well. Would you like to stay the night there instead? Tour itinerary is as it follows: you kayak to Uros then go by boat to Llachon, paddle again to Amantani Island. Immerse in the local culture and way of life. Next day you reach Taquile by kayak.

The speed boat reaches to Taquile from Uros in 1h 20 min. On Taquile you’ll learn about textile tradition and have an overlooking lunch.
After a well-deserved lunch in Taquile Island you’ll return by Fast boat to Puno port.
Or instead of arriving by the fast boat to Puno port, you can get to Puno shore by kayak (optional at no additional charge).
We’ll arrive to Puno main port, upon arrival get a small van and get transferred to your hotel.

Remember that it is a physical activity so be prepared to paddle 12 km through the most beautiful spots of the Open Lake Titicaca and National Reserve (Puno sector), as well as wearing comfortable clothes that you can wet.
