On Paramis Homestay Kayak Tour we’re kayaking from Puno to Uros Islands, and then navigate to Llachon by motor boat.
At Llachon, kayak adventure continues on to Paramis community by paddling, on arrival have lunch at local family house.
The first day during our stay at Paramis we’ll be also participants of fishing and harvesting activities. Learn some clue knowledge about natural herbs using.
The next day, after an early breakfast, we’ll go by kayaks from Paramis to Amantani Island.
Our lunch is in Amantani Island, then after we’ll depart toward Puno by motor boat or have a final paddle from Uros to Puno shore on the way back.

What you’ll do (step by step itinerary)
Day 1: Puno to Paramis
Kayak to Uros Islands

Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Puno then drive you to Uros Kalapajra pier (launch point). So you don’t have to worry about how to get to kayak departure point. Just be ready at 7:00 am.
Here, after 15 min drive and a safety briefing from your kayak guide you’ll get the appropriate safety equipment and embark on our almost 0ne hour kayaking adventure to Uros reed islands passing through scenic landscape.
On arrival to Uros there are more than 90 floating islands. We’ll step on one of those islands to onboard the motor boat. Your guide and the boatman are uploading on the boat the kayaks, which takes 15 min while enjoy the view of the reed islands.

Summarizing, you’ll spend the night in Amantani the first day and for the next day you’ll kayak to Taquile and finally return to Uros reed Islands for a last optional paddle towards Puno.

Llachon Kayak to Paramis

Then after, we’re finally leaving Uros islands for Llachon community at 8:15 am by our motor boat.
After 2 hours navigating to Llachon we’ll reach the embarkation point. From where we’re paddling across the open water and head to Paramis community, located on a beautiful lake shoreline (behind Capachica peninsula). Enjoy the serenity of the Lake, blue water inspires tranquility and peace.
Paramis overnight

Kayak from Llachon to Paramis takes about 2 hours and 15 min (10 km), then on arrival to Paramis we’ll be disembarking on its sandy beach shoreline and start walking up to our family host house, beautiful ambiance.
Our family, Balbino and his brother Calixto and sister Francisca will provide the lunches.
In the afternoon you’ll be part of their local daily activities such as fishing and Totora reed harvesting (optional).
Beautiful views of the surrounding lake-shore including the Cordillera Real on the Bolivian side of the lake from our house.

At about 6:30 pm community people will show us their typical dances and for sure we’ll dance with them.
After dinner go to bed and rest well for the next day adventure.
Day 2: Paramis to Amantani

Amantani Island is located 38 km away from Puno city, and 10 km from Paramis which will be reached by kayaks early in the morning.
Sun is rising while we’re getting ready to paddle toward Amantani Island.
Today we’ll proceed to explore the Island of Amantani. Our host family we’ll tell us “Adios” “Goodbye”. We’ll enter in our kayaks and begin paddling to our last destination in the open lake: Amantani.
Amantani Island

When we arrive to Amantani, Inca Tiyana Port after we’ve paddled some 2h 15min we’re walking up to the restaurant where we’ll be explained by the guide about their life style, history and traditions.
Lunch is based on Trout/Chicken and Quinoa Soup.
This visit will take almost 1h30min since we arrive until we leave the Island to get back to Puno city by motor boat.
When we reach Uros Islands as the last option you can decide to paddle one more time from Uros reed islands to Puno shore (to same initial launch point)

At the end of the day we’ll back to Puno and you’ll get transferred to your hotel by our driver.

Remember that it is a physical activity so be prepared to paddle 24 km through the most beautiful spots of the Open Lake Titicaca and National Reserve (Puno sector), as well as wearing comfortable clothes that you can wet.
