Amantani Homestay Kayak Tour is an adventure and cultural exchange combo experience covering the islands of Uros, Amantani and Taquile in 2 days.
The first day, Lake Titicaca Homestay Tour will have you kayaking from Puno to Uros Islands and then navigate to Llachon by a private motor boat.
At Llachon shoreline, kayak adventure continues on to Amantani Island, on arrival have lunch at local Amantani community lodging house.

Day 1: Puno to Amantani Island Tour
The first day, on Lake Titicaca 2 Day Tour we will cover Puno to Amantani Island by kayak and motorized boat.

Kayak to Uros Islands
Your early morning in Puno begins with a quick transfer from your hotel to kayak dock. We team up with select friendly and reliable drivers, one of them is going to pick you up from your hotel and drives you to kayak launching place (the day before his name will be confirmed). Upon arrival, meet up with your Amantani kayak guide, get a safety briefing, paddling lessons, wear the appropriate kayak gear and embark in your sit inside kayak.
You’ll kayak to Uros Islands through the maze of carpeted reeds, narrow water ways and spectacular landscape.
The set of Uros floating Islands are located almost one hour kayaking away from Puno. We’ll step on one of those islands to immediately onboard the motor boat, in order to skip the crowds and gain time for what is coming next.
While you enjoy the view of other Islands and surroundings, your guide and boatman will put up the kayaks on the boat.

Llachon to Amantani Kayak
After 2 hours navigating in open Lake, we’ll reach out the second kayak launch pier. Llachon is located in the tip of Capachica peninsula. Ancient Temple Trek or Amantani Sunset Kayak?
Foor the the afternoon, you’ll visit the village’s pre-Incan Temple of Pachatata or Pachamama or just take again the kayaks to paddle at sunset over the peninsula of Capachica. Later, settle into our rural lodge for dinner and overnight.
Beautiful views of the surrounding lake-shore including the Cordillera Real on the Bolivian side of the lake.
What to choose? Your Amantani Homestay Kayak Tour is fully flexible and customized, if for some reason (altitude sickness, bad weather condition, etc.) you can’t kayak from Llachon to Amantani then we highly recommend you to kayak at sunset because the next day you’ll have chance for hiking in Taquile Island anyway.
Pachamama and Pachatata temple are pre-Incan buildings on the top of the Island, most people hike up there for the Lake Titicaca sunset and 360 view of the Lake.

Amantani to Taquile Kayak
Taquile Island is located 36 km away from Puno city, and 10 km from Amantani Island, our next destination.
After an early breakfast, you’ll walk down to local port wearing typical customs, colorful embroideries.
At the launch place, shot the last pictures with the family, get in your kayak, and gently paddle away saying “Adios! Goodbye!”
Amantani to Taquile Kayak takes 2 hours until reaching its shore.

Taquile Hiking and Lunch
Taquile Island is divided into 6 communities. We’ll arrive at Alsuno port, following up the “steep” stone paved path leading us to the restaurant.
Taquile an isolated spot on the lake is famous for their fine art textile, preserved through generations. Your guide the information you need to know about this particular Island.
People wear bright and black colors depending on their marital status. Men knit their very own hats “Chullos” and women weave husband’s calendar belt.

Your lunch will be overlooking the lake, based on quinoa soup, grilled trout (or vegetable omelet for vegetarian option) and Coca muña tea.
This visit will take almost 3 hours since we arrive until we leave the Island to get back to Puno city by motor boat.
Taquile Island Tour will last about 3 hours. Then after, your boatman captain will take us to Uros Islands on 2 hours and 30 minutes of navigation.
Are you serious? Does Taquile to Uros boat ride take 2 hours and 30 minutes? Yes, it’s a slow regular slow boat. However you would upgrade the boat by booking Kayak to Uros + Taquile Speed Boat Tour.
